Product Details
Chypre is French for Cyprus, but is also a genre of perfume which is the combination of five notes – citrus, floral, woody, oakmoss, amber and musk. In 1917, a Frenchman Francois Coty created a perfume of the same name “Chypre de Coty”. This eventually became the most talked-about representation of a Chypre fragrance.
The composition of a chypre in modern times consists of various notes such as oak moss, patchouli, amber, fruity and animalic notes (such as civet), with the addition of floral middle notes such as rose or jasmine oil and a bright, fresh, lightly sweet top-note of bergamot or lemon.
